The port of Igoumenitsa

Travel with Clickferry to the city of Igoumenitsa. Located in the northwestern region of Greece off the island of Corfu, it is the capital of the region of Thesprosopotida.

In the early twentieth century it was a small fishing village with 500 inhabitants but since the 60s it has become an important center for Greece, retaining the picturesque character of a small town. It has beaches of crystalline waters and landscapes of mountains and forests that surround its spas.

Igoumenitsa was surrounded by a protective wall with four monumental entrances that allowed access to the city. The most prominent was the north tower, located on top of a hill and whose archaeological sites discovered the existence of a religious sanctuary, a theater with capacity for 2,500 people and two temples.
