Salina is the second-largest island in the Aeolian archipelago and the greenest and most fertile of the Aeolian Islands, famous for its Malvasia vineyards and its DOP capers.
The island has two ports: Santa Marina di Salina (on the east coast, the main port) and Rinella (on the south coast). They provide connections to Naples, Milazzo, Palermo, and the rest of the Aeolian Islands.
The ports have ticket offices, restaurants, car and bicycle rentals, and buses that travel around the island. Salina is an excellent base for exploring the archipelago.
