The Port of Ventotene
Ventotene is the smallest and southernmost of the inhabited islands of the Pontine Archipelago, located between Lazio and Campania.
Its historic port, the Porto Romano, is one of the oldest ports in the Mediterranean, carved out of volcanic rock more than 2,000 years ago and still in use today. Next to it is the modern Porto Nuovo, which handles passenger traffic from Formia, Naples, Ponza, and Casamicciola.
The island is part of a protected marine nature reserve. The port offers ticket offices, boat rentals, restaurants, and basic services. The main ferry companies are SNAV, Laziomar, and NLG.
